The former former Prime minister and presidential aspirant 2016, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi left the National Resistance Movement (NRM) headquarters at Kyadondo road today without nomination forms.
Mr. Amama expected to have the forms even before paying the nomination aspirants, fee for the chairman of the party and presidential aspirant which totaled up to Ugshs. 20 million.
With a couple of discussions and inquiries he held with the party’s electoral commission Chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi about the requirements of having the forms, Amama insisted to know about the Electoral guidelines and regulations to be followed before he could make the required payments.
He said that him going through the party regulations would give him a chance to either agree or disagree with some decisions that were taken and therefore would need reformation where required.
Dr. Odoi issued a programme that stated the period July 14 to 31 as that for the NRM party aspirants for parliamentary, local councils, party chairman and presidential positions for picking nomination forms only after making the fee attached to each position aspired for.
Dr. Odoi therefore denies Amama the nomination forms as he reminded him about those same regulations having been made with his contribution in the past when he still held the General Secretary position in NRM. He also insisted that Mr. Amama needed to make the payments before he could have the forms.
